QuickBooks Online
Add your accountant as a user
Follow these steps to invite Accounting Fresh as your accountant in QuickBooks Online. This gives your accountant access to your books without sharing your login credentials.
1
Log in to QuickBooks Online
Go to quickbooks.intuit.com and sign in to your account.
2
Click the Gear icon (Settings)
Located in the top right corner of your QuickBooks dashboard.
3
Select "Manage Users"
Found under the "Your Company" section in the Settings menu.
4
⚠️ Important
Go to the "Accountants" tab
Make sure you click the Accountants tab — not the Users tab. This is the correct place to add your CPA.
5
Click "Invite" and enter the email address
Enter your accountant's email address and click Send Invitation.
6
Send the invitation
Click Send Invitation. You may be prompted to verify your identity. David will receive an email and accept the invite.
IRS Power of Attorney (POA)
Approve your accountant's authorization request
When your accountant submits a Power of Attorney (Form 2848) on your behalf, you'll need to approve it through your IRS online account. This allows David to communicate with the IRS on your behalf.
1
Log in to your IRS Online Account
Go to www.irs.gov/account and sign in. If you don't have an account, you'll need to create one using ID.me.
2
Find the pending authorization request
Look for "Authorizations" in your account dashboard or a pending request notification at the top of the page.
3
Review and electronically sign
Review the details of the request and electronically sign to approve. David will then be authorized to represent you with the IRS.
✅ Once approved, David can speak directly with the IRS on your behalf — no need for you to sit on hold or navigate IRS phone lines.
